    Below you will find all the information for those who want to participate in the upcoming Congressional Art Competition. The deadline date is today (May 11th, 2020).

    • Rules and release forms are attached and recommend you reviewing before sending artwork!
    • Artwork will only be accepted in digital form for now and can be sent to the email address below.
    • You will be required to fill out a release form and attach that to email when sending art.
    • If you're going to be sending artwork I would like to review for quality and to make sure you're sending.
    • If you sent me your artwork already, you will be required to upload to the new email below.

    Quick reminder to those interested in the Congressional Art Competition:

    •Please make sure you take a look at the post of April 24th below to make sure you don't miss the dates of art deadline.

    • If you do enter your art to the completion please let me know so I can keep track of who's art was sent over and make sure you have all the right information.

    I am working on setting my end of Canvas but for the most part might be using Google Classroom to give you resources and updates.

    Good evening,

    As your parent might have received and email or phone call in regards to tech please read below since Chrome-books will be dispersed tomorrow for THS as message follows below. Please make sure if you need a laptop to read the message below and follow instructions given. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Dear TUSD Parents and Guardians,

    I hope this message finds you and your family healthy and doing well. In efforts to support continued learning and educational services to TUSD students, the District will begin distributing Chromebooks to students who do not already have access to a computer, laptop or tablet at home. As we move forward during the physical school closures for COVID-19, TUSD teachers and administration are working hard to develop and implement distance learning opportunities for all students. Distance learning methods may include on-line instruction, printed instructional materials, phone calls, emails, video conferencing and other means of communication. If your student already has home access to a computer, tablet or laptop, we ask that you refrain from checking out a District device at this time so that we can ensure that devices are available for all students.

    We will be checking out Chromebooks at the northwest corner of the District Office, located at 300 South Robinson Street, Tehachapi, CA 93561. In order to ensure everyone has an equal chance to check out a Chromebook, we are limiting Chromebooks to one per household. Also, to ensure safety and social distancing, we will be checking out only during the specified times below, and you will not be able to check out Chromebooks outside of your designated time. Upon arrival, you will be asked to sign a device checkout agreement form and if your child is in high school or middle school, they will also be asked to sign the agreement form.     All District devices employ active content filters, and device activity online will be monitored. Also, when students log into their District Google Chrome accounts, their activity is monitored as well.
    When picking up a Chromebook, please do not exit your vehicles we will come to you at the curb.


    Chromebooks will be issued to students based on their current school of attendance, on the following dates:
    Monday, April 20th – Tehachapi High School
    Tuesday, April 21st – Jacobsen Middle School
    Wednesday, April 22nd – Cummings Valley Elementary
    Thursday, April 23rd – Golden Hills Elementary
    Friday, April 24th – Tompkins Elementary

    Please arrive to pick up your student’s Chromebook according to the times below, based on your student’s last name.

    10am-11:00am: Last Names A – G
    11:00am – 12:00pm: Last Names H – N
    12:00pm – 1:00pm: Last Names O - T
    1:00pm – 2:00pm: Last Names U – Z

    To facilitate ongoing student learning and engagement, TUSD will be providing access to free internet in the parking lots at our schools. Internet access will be available from 7am to 7pm daily. Below is the network and password information needed for students to log into the District Wifi.

    While visiting site parking lots to access TUSD WiFi internet, we ask that you maintain social distancing and stay in your vehicle.
    While we anticipate a smooth transition to distance learning, we know that you may have questions or need technical support.     When creating a support ticket, it is helpful to provide the following information.
    For Parents/Guardians

    • If you are requesting help regarding a district owned device, please add the barcode number to your message

    As we move forward towards full implementation of distance learning strategies, TUSD will provide opportunities for both parents and students to participate in training. The on-line learning platform that TUSD will be using is called Canvas. Through the Canvas platform, students will have access to instruction, learning tools, assignments, and much more. Canvas will be accessible from any computer or mobile device with a standard browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Explorer and Safari. Student and parent Canvas trainings will be delivered through Zoom, and will be available “live” on Thursday April 23rd, and Friday April 24th. Please check the District and school site web pages for specific days and times. If you are unable to attend at the scheduled times, the trainings will be recorded and can be accessed through a link on the District Website.

    - If you are wanting to enter the Congressional Art Competition please make sure to send me files, a scan, or picture through email.

    Hello!

    Hope to find all of you in good health and safe at home.
     
    I have been accumulating most of your email addresses to keep in touch with all of you. 
     
    As some of you know we will be working from home until May 5th for now. All of our classes status and information to keep you informed will be available through my THS website and also Google Classroom. Below you will find times for all us to have a video conference through ZOOM to touch base and I will also be giving you more information of how we will proceed for the weeks to come. If you are able to pass this information on to your peers that may not have completed the survey, pass on link below or message of what's going.

    Hello to all of you!


    So as many of you know we will be out of school for the next couple of weeks due to our current situation.
