Mrs. Heather Richter, Principal
If I could have written my life time goal ten years ago it would have been to be principal at Golden Hills Elementary School. I am beyond honored to have this dream become a reality!
In 1996, I started my career
working for Muroc Joint Unified School District teaching second and third grade
at Branch Elementary School. I enjoyed the many great teachers that took me
under their wings those first few years. But when the opportunity arose to
teach in my hometown, I jumped at the chance. I started my career at Golden
Hills teaching sixth grade. I fell in love with this age group and enjoyed
every minute of it. Due to decrease in student numbers at Golden Hills, I was
then moved to Wells Elementary School in 2002, and was honored to be part of the
last staff to teach at this historic Tehachapi elementary school. The following
year, I began to teach Special Education at two different sites. I taught in
the morning at Monroe High School and in the afternoon I taught at Tompkins
Elementary School. After this experience, I came back to Golden Hills
Elementary School to teach third grade. In 2007, I was honored to take on the
position of Teacher-In-Charge under the leadership of Miss Patricia Thomas.
I graduated from Tehachapi High School in 1991. Go Warriors!! I attended California State University, Bakersfield. I earned my clear credential through CSUB as well. I earned my Administrative credential in the spring of this 2012. I am currently enrolled in a Masters in Arts program in Educational Leadership through The American College of Education. My goal is to graduate by June of 2013. I am also a member of the Association of California School Administrators.
