Welcome to the Tehachapi Unified School District website
Tehachapi Unified School District is comprised of approximately 4,600 students in Kindergarten through twelfth grade. We have three elementary schools, one middle school, one comprehensive high school and an alternative education school which includes continuation high school, adult education, and a home-based independent study program. Our district is well-known for our excellent academic and extracurricular programs. We have a Title One Academic Achievement Award Elementary School, one California Distinguished Elementary School and one California Distinguished High School. Our Continuation High School is a California Model Continuation High School. We are proud of our district and welcome you!

Margy Young was chosen as the District Classified Employee of the Year for 2011-12. Mrs. Young is an Instructional Aide at Tehachapi High School.

Sharon Weaver was chosen as the District Teacher of the Year for 2011-12. Mrs. Weaver teaches transitional first grade at Cummings Valley Elementary School.

News:
The district has made our proposed Safe and Inclusive Schools curriculum available for public review for 30 days, from April 24- May 25, 2012. A copy of the curriculum is available at each school site and the district office. Due to copyright laws, we are unable to post the lessons online or provide copies. An outline of the lessons included by topic and grade level is available on the district Safe and Inclusive Schools page, as well as at each school site and the district office. We will be hosting a Parent and Community Information Night on the curriculum on May 14, 2012 at Jacobsen Middle School from 6:00-7:30.
